break in

alright guys i juss got my 250r motor completely redone. what is the best way 2 break it in. i have heard ride it like u stole it and keep the rpm's varied and go thropugh all gears. ive also heard ride it till it gets pretty warm and kill it let it cool and do that about 3-4 times. any info is apreciated thanks guys

lrd told me to run my cylinder through 3 heat cycles (5 minute warmup then 2-3 hour cooldown) than to ride it for 1/2 hour, then it should be ok after that.

ESR250R is correct. The heat cylces are important to allow the piston and rings to expand and contract with heat while running at light loads.....like neutral. After doing this a few times, you're good to go, but I'd stay away from 5th and 6th gear balls out runs till you burn a full tank through it. Just ride it around in MX conditions, not desert conditions so you're up and down with load and RPM, and not doing top speed runs.
