when you say way to short you mean the lenght of the quad or the exhaust cuz i was looking at my friends LT 250r and the engine would mount right up in there

The front shock will not work on the rear.

Even if it did fit it is waaaaaaaaaay too weak. It's only valved/sprung to cary 1/4 of the weight of the quad, whereas the rear is setup to carry 1/2 the weight of the quad.

Say the quad weights 350lbs, and the rider weights 150lbs. (rounded #'s for simplicity.)

The rear would take 250 lbs of load.
The front would take 250 lbs of load, but has 2 shocks, so each shock would only support 125 lbs of load.

This isn't exact.. there's weight bias, etc.. but is just an oversimplified example to get the point across.
