Ok I'm thinking of getting alittle more zip out of my motor and getting bored out to 416. I just want to know what all of you 416 owners have in your motor ; piston, cam, or anything else you may have added. Also how reliable is the motor, don't really want to sacrifice that. Thanks in advance.

the 416 engine is a perfectly relaible engine. with the new found revs you will probably want a rev box ignition, and run the stage three hot cam. you will see a big change with that cam. i ran this set up hard for quite some time and was very impressed with the change in rpm and power.

my 416 has je 10.8:1 piston, hotcams stage 1, crf450 cam chain, port and polish, and a 3 angled vavle job. this motor is awsome!
i had it done since early july and no problems so far (knock on wood). i think i may be looking into a new rev box soon enough.

I got a wiseco 416 with 11:1 compression and a hot cam stage2 in the motor and it is really fast. I also got a janssen rev box and a fmf power bomb header and yoshimura slip on. I have been runnin it since about august with no problems at all.

I noticed no one has said anything about new stronger valves or hd springs. I also take it that most of you still use the stock carb? I'm gonna do all the work myself except for the boring not sure where to take it for that. Probably to my local shop in new jersey Dags powersports, unless someone has a really good spot. I'd also like to know how much it costs for the head work if anyone remembers, for the port and polish and valve job. I know its not nesessary but i'm sure it gives a couple extra ponys.

I dont have new heavy duty valves or springs. I also am running a stock carb. Mine runs realy good even without these things. There is a place here in Wisconsin that does really good boring. Terry's engine. He build stock car motors and he only charged me $40 to bore my cylinder. I recomend him.
