How long should i kinda baby my new motor now that it is back together? couple hours? or what? Not real sure dont wanna mess anyhting up. I have new valves hot cam stage II and JE piston. My dealer said take it easy for a tank of gas or so and i thought that kinda seemed long. I know when i bought my 450r everyone said beat the piss out of it and break it in tight is that the same situation here?

Ride it hard, hit the rev limiter a few times. Ride it almost as hard as you would normally so the rings seat properly. That is hte only way they are going to properly seat without oil leakage on acceleration and decceleration. Your piston will last longer and your engine will be stronger. Hit different RPM ranges in different gears to, but be sure to hit all gears. And let the engine decellerate on it's own occassionally, without the use of breaks. That can be done easily on the road.

i get on mine and warm it up by riding it slow for a few minutes. then i run the crap out of it. i will change the oil after 20-30 minutes of ride time.
