Does anyone know any reliable motor builders in Michigan that could set me up w/a 416 kit & higher compression piston and perhaps give me some advice on cam choice, pricing, ect, ect...

Are you looking for someone to do it for you or just someone to get the parts from?

Probably both, depending on what the labor cost is...you know if it's too high, I might consider learnin' myself about it.

There is the one honda dealership in Mt. Pleasant, but I would stay away from them. I had toms cycle down by St. Johns do my 440. I have no complaints. They don't really have knowledge on what cam is the best and stuff, but they know how to build a motor. They charge 54 dollars an hour and charged me 270 dollars in labor on the 440. Since your doing a 416 it would probably be cheaper to get marcums kit and a service manual and do it yourself.

Any idea where to get info/pricing on the Marcums kit or any other comparable kits?

thanks ~ Hawk

If I were you I'd give Rick Ritter of RCR (http://www.rittercycle.com/honda.htm) a call. He can help you decide what will work best for you.

He did some work for me and was quick about getting it done. You'll have to put it together yourself but it's not that hard if you have a service manual.

I don't know where Hemlock is. But You can try Matt, at Magic Racing, in Shelby Township. 586-254-9117.

He helped me with my bike. Did my porting, and valve work. Magic Racing ussually has the best prices on alot of stuff also.
