Yup winter is just around the corner .. litterally . My dad is up at our cottage installing an oil stove and he just called me and told me they got snow all this morning . The temps are below freezing right now . If this is a sign to come , it's going to be one LONG winter !!!!

i can not wait until the snow starts falling. i basically wait all year for it to snow. in our town, when the snow falls and the roads get covered, everything turns into snowmobile trails. cops dont hassle you for the most part so me and a buch of friends ride the snow covered roads all through the whole town, light, dark, whenever. stop at gas stations and fill up, eat at resturants, nothing better

Damn if you lived up here , you'd hardly ever ride . LOL .

Nothing a few extra sweaters , snow pants , snowmobile jacket , sledding gloves and boots can't fix . .

In all honesty , I'd much rather ride in the winter than in the summer . Slap on some studded tires and your quad will turn like it's on rails .

I just bought my big bro's practically brand spankin' new Maxxis 4-Snow, snow tires off of him for 30 buck for both tires!!

Hey this will be my first year riding my quad in the snow And I think this winter wil be kick - *** FUN! When next spring comes I'm going to go to englishtown with my big bro and practice so I can start racing by the summer. I'm gonna get a HMF pipe for christmas and a jet kit and a K and N airfilter and set up my quad for racing for next spring. I'm going to go to englishtown with my big bro and practice so I can start racing by the summer I'm gonna race his 440 around the track and LOSE! lol I'm gonna chase the snowmobiles that go up my rode on the winter at night I'm gonna hide in the bushes and i'm gonna start it pull up behind them and turn on my lights and rev up my quad and scare the crap out of them!

Tell me how fun riding in the snow is bc i can wait!!!

I remember last year when it snowed and iced over some. We had this big hill at the bottom of are road and i went down it just sliding around doing dounuts. :D

I cant wait for the winter, I live like almost right next to a lake, and once it freezes over these people always build a nice oval track on it and let the racing begin. oh man winters awsome lol, bombing down the roads full of snow, toped out on the frozen lake. i love it

We love riding in the snow!!! Hope we get tons of it this year. My son likes to do doughnuts in our court. Luckily my neighbors never complain. Me and my buddies head out on the roads when it snows. Without a doubt it is some of the best riding we get to do.

yeh i think ide pass on doing the wheelies on the ice. i dont care if you have studded tires or not on your street bike, that *****$ nuts.

10-01-2005, 10:52 AM
Believe it or not the ice studs provide better traction than any street, dirt or whatever. Studded tires on bare ice is a riot. You have a heck of a time spinning drifting .... if you stud the tires differently, then you can get the machine to behave differently.

Seriously, the studs are GOLD DIGGER ice screws (not sheet metal screws) ;) . The GD screws are extremely sharp and can easily cut you if you are not careful. I laugh at the sheet metal screw guys..they last about one or two outings :p
