View Full Version : need info about 416kit with cams

ya..i have a 416 ex with a pro circuit exhaust. that is pretty much the only motor mods that have been done, it is a stock carb. I was wondering if i added hotcams and jetted bigger if i would see a good power increase. just let me know if you guys think it would be worth the money. also wat stage should i get?

it will wake it up quiote a bit. especially since you have a bigger bore and higher compression. Hot cams reccomends the stage 1 for that bore.

do you have any headwork ( porting ) done ?? If not..... get your head ported and you will see a good power gain with any cam u choose

ok thanks, ill consider that. im kinda tight on money so i just wanted to know if u guys think this would be well worth the spend. do u have any idea how much more hp? will i see more torque, top end, mid range?

no i am jetted rite now. i was meaning when i get hotcams and then throw in some BIGGER jets than i currently have if i will see alot more power. the jetted bigger statement is just saying that im not just gonna throw hotcams in it and go...i will jet it differently

do you have the full exhaust or the slip on?

shortened pro circuit slip... what does that have to do with the cams?

hey cam,
before i got the 400ex there was some mild porting done to the head. just to let you know.

get a hotcams dropin stage 1, it will rip once you get that in, since you have a bore and high comp piston already

o its been good..one 4 motos on it so far. i did flip it last weekend bad in my second moto at winterset...i was out cold for seven laps but that ex only suffered bent bars and some stiched up plastic. got all of that replaced tho and have done alot of cosmetic stuff to it since ive had it so its lookin really sharp now too. did u en up gettin that z440?
