I put new rear pads on my 02 and took off the parking break cable at the same time.left the assembly intact on the caliper

The brakes work but it was near impossible to get the loaded calipers back on the rotor.I had to tap the caliper with a mallet to get it to go on.I carck the bleeder open and the resevoir.pushed the piston all the way back in more than a few times just to be sure it was all the way in.....Still very hard to mount the caliper.

I got it all done and have to use some force to turn the rear tires.Bled the brakes very thoroughly to get fresh fluid in them It's almost like the pads are a touch too thick.EBC pads also.

I'm waiting for new sprockets so I can't take her for a spin until then.

Am I missing something here or is this normal for new pads to be a touch thick???

When I tried EBC and Braking pads, I had to grind some off of them because they would not fit. I switched to DP and Tusk pads and I do not have that problem now.

Ive done many brake jobs adn this is the first for pads too thick..I would guess they will wear down quick enough?
