whats the typical, cost on pc a 400ex translucent red already broke down redy to blast n prep

If it is 2 stage powder coat. candy red over silver it runs $150 to $225.00. Single stage $65.00 to $145.00. this is what i have payed in the past.

He has it about right,there are some high cost ones out there though.400+ for a frame,a good person is pappy here is my frame he did for me trans red

Also I know powdercoat is stronger than paint but will it chip easily?

This goes out to you EXrida. For one, that frame looks way good. 2, how much did it cost you to have it done. I love that frame.

a few weeks ago, i swung into our local big pc shop. they do a ton of work, from small stuff to big big stuff (they have a 30' oven along with several smaller ones)

i had a few frames in the truck so i asked them what it would cost me to strip and coat them, 1 in a solid, 1 in a translucent. the solid was qouted at $280 and the trans frame was qouted at over $350

needless to say i filled them in on what i do...lol

while the local big shop may seem expensive, the more you do with them the better they will help you with the price. they have large shops with high overhead, and the bills gotta be paid etc. i use them now for stripping coated parts and ceramic coating exhausts but i will stick to doing my own frames:p

the best thing is to approach a local coater as a sponsor if you race. you would be surprised how many will really help out if you will showcase thier work and send them referals.

i think it is up around 400ish

1.Sandblast
2.Guesset
3.Trans color

But i think they will run around 150-300 depending on who you use,I personally prefer pappy,lol
