im going to buy a new 450r in the next week or so and i gotta get a pipe as soon as i get it cause i cant stand a quiet quad. I love the sound and look of a TC. Anyone running one on their R? I've heard some problems with them breaking and so but i see alot of mx racers around here running them and im probably gonna race. So has anyone had any trouble with them?

If you are getting a 450r, TC is by far the best exhaust that you can get....I personaly don't have one, because when i got my quad i couldn't find any so I had to go with the second best FMF Facory 4 with the Power Bomb header which also is a great system, I gained tons of low and mid Range power with it.. When by buddy gets his TC sytem (that he has been waigting for 2 months) I'll let ya know which ones better....

What does TC stand for? Cause I cant find it anywhere :) What do you think is the best shop to get it?

Would the PC T4 be a better exhaust?

Thanks!

Mayby he does good work but his website sure does suck.

What good is having all those links if they lead to nothing. Its been like that for years too.

Cant find his pipes.......probably better off. I know your ears will thank you

Yep, the website sucks. Its powered by Fastsites, but its far from fast. The exhaust looks nice though.

i dont think he makes the shorty pipes anymore. im pretty sure he stopped after they put the noise level rule into gnc racing.

YOU NEED TO CALL!!! For some reason some of the best companies dont like this whole internet thing and prefera phone call. Another example is PEP, they dont even have a site. YES he still makes these pipes and yes lots and lots of people run them. Thats for a reason too, they are AWESOME!! heres mine..

The TC is an awesome pipe and in my opinion the best one you can get! My experience with it has been incredible. It is loud but makes your quad sound alive! Only people with delicate and sensitive ears don't like the sound of it...
To get TC's products you have to call. Tom Carlson himself picks the phone and will answer any question you might have. And if he has what you're looking for in stock, it'll ship out the same day or the next day.

The TCS are great pipes, but when sounds is and issue at gncc races i would go with a Yoshi TRS (TRC now) I run one adn love it, good increse everywere. Cant wait till next week when i get my piston and cam.

TC pipes pull great from bottom end but they and insanely loud!! a buddy i ride with has a full Tc motor that tom built with his own hands from bottom end up and added his pipe.....he ran the motor for 2 1/2 months then right after lorettas he got one of tim farrs white brothers and the motor pulled so much harders..... the new white brothers pipe is really awesome i would take a look at it.:eek2:

im not sure the certain pipe but the design is really odd soon at the pipe exits the head it sweeps really hard back .... unlike any other pipe its designed after the dirtbike head pipes for the factory racers....

I have heard the Curtis Sparks big core pipe runs extremely well on the 450r. That is the one I will be buying as soon as I get a 450.

here is the white bros.... it pulls on top more than the big core

Diedrich

they use a stock crf head pipe...they are really a supertrapp....but TC gets then and builds a midpipe to fit around the frame then uses a stock CRF dirtbike header to complete it!

WRONG ha sorry, but there is no mid pipe and no i dont have a CRF header. It is a TC header connected to a TC muffler, no midpipe. And yes TC mufflers start as a supertrapp but dont end up any thing like one as you can see.

i think your wrong, i have a crf quad with a full tc exhaust he make all three peices, doenst use a crf head pipe.he WILL make you a mid pipe and tail if you want to save a little money and use a crf front pipe but he recommends teh full setup.

when I got mine for my trx450r, I called him up because it didn't come with a heat shield. He told me to use the one off of the 250 dirtbike. Said he doesn't send heatshields with his pipes. I believe he uses the crf250r pipe and welds on the piece going into the head. There's a weld right in the middle of the first bend, and maybe he fabricates the mid pipe himself and maybe not. The exhast still rips whether he makes it himself or not. I might copy his design and make an exhaust for my cousin.

i love the tc pipe on my yfz and r .i have full blown tc national engines on both . around 500 is what they cost . toms nunber is 814-723-3514 . he is a great guy . tell him Mike Mahan sent ya !by the way the yfz and r are identical in a drag race with the r pulling a little longer but not as violently as the yammie .
