whats up hey my dad went to utah for a atv jamboree and on the way home the turbo on our 2005 F-350 (6.0 desiel) quit. the gauge red nothin' and the temperature gauge stayed the same. He got out and opened the hood. He couldn't do much because the whole thing is electronic. So he found the turbo, wiggled a couple wires and got back in. He fired it up and the gauge said there was turbo. He got on it and she ran good all the way home.

Did it run any different? Sounds to me like if you wiggled some wires and the gauge started working again, it's just a gauge problem.

if the turbo wasnt spinning during that period of time, it wouldnt be now. sounds like your boost gauge, wiring, or sensor that measures inlet pressure, is bad. nothing wrong with the turbo though

it felt like there was nothin' there. He had it floored.

But anyway since it is a common problem like you guys say it is wouldnt there be a recall. I would call the dealer and see what they could do.

If it's an 05 it should still be under warranty just take it to the dealer.

a turbo is mechanical, not electrical. it either works or it doesn't...wiggling some wires won't change that.
