questions on 18" rear rims

What diameter on 18" rear rims do most people run...8" or 9"? I'm going to be using them for mx.

Also, what rear tire width do most people run...11" or 9.5"?

Any info you can give me would be very helpful in my purchase.

It is all kinda a personnal preference, the usual was 8", but I see more 9" rims now. I like 9.5 wide, they seem to slide better.

It seems the 9" is more popular because a lot of people are running 19" tires now and thats the only rim size you can get them for. If I was running 18", my preference would be an 8" rim.
