i have the 416 with a je 10.8:1 CR and a WB track cam. the motor has more power throughout, but really hits from mid up. at the race i went to on sunday, i got outta the gates in second gear in about 4th place. it kept pullin hard, but i cant really tell u how good it goes from there cuz i missed a gear. but the 416 with a cam is much improvement over stock. cant compare to a 440 though cuz i never rode one.

i went 416 with a 10.8:1 compresion. it's all stock with no lid and a modified exhaust. it pulls my quad with 22" better than the with the 20" before the piston..i'd say it's worth it but i think just the compresion alone is what really helped.

A kid in town has a 426 that I have rode. It pulls harder than stock but I can tell a difference between that and my 440.
From what I have read and have talked to people, both are good kits. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. The 416 might be a little quicker, but the 440 will have more grunt.

my 426 with LRD pipe will out run my buddies duncan 440 with fat boy pipe and edlebrock carb. not by much but it does his does have a little more torque and bottom end but not for the extra money he paid for it. we both have 11-1 pistons and the same things done to the head.

I had an LRD 416 and really enjoyed it. It was quick and much improved over stock. I now have a mild 440. (a 440 11:1 with no cam or head work) I love it. It isn't much faster then my 416 as far as I can tell. But it does have much more bottom end torque! I posted here before about getting a cam for it for top end. It does seem a little flat on top but I race harescrambles and the bottom end is what I want so I decided to stick with what I got for now.
