try posting what u hav done, in detail. easiest thing to get more power out of this is porting and big bores.

if u want to go faster, try some suspension mods.

everything else (intake, exhaust, tires, wheels.) should be done too go with the other main mods.

if it is stock go for a pipe, silencer , and cr headgasket.

Yeah, I need to put a CR head gasket on there. I was also wondering about having the head shaved. What year CR head gasket do I use? Also, this is what the bike has installed - It has an FMF Fatty with the Powercore 2, Boyesen RAD intake, UNI filter, and a wiseco piston (I rebuilt it a month ago, it's just .10 over)

I think you use one off of an 87. Sounds to me like you need some porting.

yah, i probably would have at least done a little clean up port while you were in there redoing the top end... for starters i would ditch the uni and get a K&N, and im sure there are gunna be opinions about that. depending on what kind of riding you do you might want to go ahead and lighten your flywheel. maybe a bigger carb, but i cant think of too much more (besides those and cr headgasket) you can do without going back into your motor.

I agree porting is needed for every 2-stroke motor. Factory just don't cut it on anything. Want power? Than ya have to cut it.

The Fatty flows well, port it and raise the compression shave the head, get it into the 200 - 220 psi range. Have the boost port on the piston opened up. 38mm Keihin Air Striker carb, and she would fly.

The Fatty will give you a really good bottom end to midrange pull. If you want top end you'll have to switch it, but then that would make it really pipe'y

Your next modification should be a complete motor package. Follow my logic, here.

You need porting for good power, and it's almost silly to get porting without head modifications. Any place that does porting will also throw in head mods for a nominal cost.

You need a pipe to match your new porting, I would NOT use the FMF. The Fatty is designed for stock porting and general power, you want something dedicated to your riding style, whether it is low-end or hi-rev.

So basically, you need a complete motor package: Porting, head mods, and pipe.

just depends onhow much you wanna spend. if you wanna go low budget get the gasket be happy .... more power.

Yeah, I knew that the FMF was a bad pipe. I was looking at one of the ones from ESR, and having it ported to match

i have a esr trx5 pipe with mx porting (from lrd) and this thing pulls nice. i pumped up the compression to 210 and went to the o ring head gasket.

ok sorry to off-sub here but what is the diff in the cr gasket and the stock? how does it add more power. just wondering.

it pumps up compression by lowering the head to the piston. its a thinner head gasket then stock. supposedely a atc gasket is between the cr and the trx head gaskets .

What year cr250 head gasket should you use? Any reliability issues after using a cr gasket?
