Can anyone tell me if this is a factory crank and rod or is it aftermarket. I bought it off e-bay, all I know is it is an 85-86 short rod.
The first picture is the only numbers on it.

Yes,it is a factory short rod.. looks to be in very nice condition..

I need to find out how to determine if an aftermarket hot-rods crank is a long or short rod. Anybody have the answer, or am I forced to get on the phone.? (which I hate)

The short rod measures 125mm between the bearing centerlines. The long rod will be 5 mm longer. Someone correct me if I am wrong that is what mine measured at.

I don't want to, I want to read it directly off the crank. It should say "This is a short-rod crank", right on the rod. I don't WANT to do the work, I want somebody else to do it for me.

What are the rod lengths again?

Mine said this is a long rod crank, but it was in spanish. I thought it was a stocking number.
