Tommy's Decked out JRD 450R

Well, the time has come for a great friend of mine. After 7 months of waiting for PEP's, Tommy deceided to go with Custom Axis and cancel the PEP's. I'll tell you from riding it...I'm glad he did. With the help of Joey at JRD, the two of these guys put their blood, guts, and glory into this quad to make it just what Tommy wanted. After a full rebuild...actually a totally new quad, this is what we have. Huge congratulations for Tommy's dream coming true and big thanks goes out to JRD racing for spending the time with him and taking the trip up to Reading, PA for the shocks. Now its time for Tommy to go earn that # 40 plate. ;)

List of mods:

*Brand new frame with full JRD gusset kit powdercoated copper red.
*New Titanium sprung Custom Axis LT shocks all around.
*JRD +3 Long travel arms, steel braided lines, JRD clamps.
*JRD Long travel +1 1/4 Swingarm with JRD linkage.
*Head is Ported and polished, matched with an 11:1 piston and the Hot cams Stage 2 cam.
*RPM adjustable racing axle, JRD Billet hubs.
*Houser +1 anti-vibe steering stem
*TAG 2's with TAG clamp / Progrips
*Douglas Yellow Labels with Billet centers matched with Maxxis Razr mx's all around.
*TC racing exhaust/ Sparks filter/ Outerwear's cover on a new airbox.
*Ac Racing Relocated Propeg nerf bars
*Laker Custom Race cut fenders (Custom JRD graphics on the way to match frame)
*DG bumper/ stock grab bar powdercoated black.

I'm sure I left a few things out. Winter plans include a new head ported and polished by the same company who does Natalie's motor, 13:1 piston, and maybe a new cam. I think Tommy like the Hotcams though, he sure seems to be "just a little faster than everyone else". :p

Just a reminder, this is what the quad looked like beginning of last year, a few months after he got it. He had gotten the elka standard travel set up, rode for a year, and realized his desire and passion for this sport. No other person i know could have gotten so good and race so fast on a quad in one year than this man right here. Hes like a riding prodigy.

Tommy, i know your heads growing as we speak, i'm still gonna keep up at atco :blah:

umm, u deffinetly need some beadlocks on there. then that quad will be sweet. and how come u only got dual rate axis, i mean if ur gonna spend the money y not just get triple?

beadlocks are not a concern right now.
I think the dual rate set up has something to do with the titanium springs being that they are a faster spring. What do you think?

that would be correct :p there was a 450r at the arenacross races this past winter with a TC and dear lord it was awful sounding indoors. you couldn't hardly even hear anyone else

no, no close ups of mikeys white jrd. i ran out of memory in my digi. today was also a trial run for him, whereas he just got his motor back from Rage Racing in Texas...the same company who does John Natalie's motor. :eek2: Need i say, the white bike PULLS!

Dee manshack is just his mechanic that does the upkeep on his bike and makes sure it runnin right!

Curtis sparks does natalies motors and u would have to drop some $$$$$$$$ to get the same setup as him....

I know this becuase my dad is VERY good friends with Dee.

yea i was getting ready to say....i thought curtis sparks done johns motors....at the beginning of the season i think john was gettin his motors done by TC then he made the swap to sparks after the 2nd or 3rd race

we might hit atco friday night. all depends if i have to work or not. i hear the track is torn up due to the race they had on saturday but hopefully something works out. pm me with your number and we'll go from there.

ahh ha the shocks...jrd got him hooked up with the titanium springs. Joey and him had to go up there to get em. $$$$!

Yea i heard he ate it on his first lap. That sux he didnt even get to see what the quad could really do. I still might go friday night. Tommy said he would come down and pick me up. no, it was back in april.ron tom jeff and other guys all went to lacey. tom broke his stem and they all left early. 2hrs after they were gone a di ck head ranger impounded them. we got them back that day and it was only 150 per bike. it sucked.. i dont think im goin on friday got into a little truoble in school. maybe ill be there doubt it. ron u beater not f^ you arm.

Oh, lol. I thought this was recently. I'm sorry. Yea I heard that whole story about that day at Lacey. Shows to be careful around places you dont know about. :p

Damn John, i didnt see this fast enough. I went with a buddy james and his friend on a dirtbike to elwood pit. Not a bad little track to ride. Alot of people there.
