hey guys i just finsihed building my YZ 426 hybrid and everything went great except i have a little cltuch problem.. ive heard tha YFZ's and alot of high performance bikes do not like to roll when they are cold.. so i got my bike started the other day and let it tun for about 5 mintues and when i turned it off and pulled in the clutch it still would not roll.. so then i started it again and rolled down a hill clicked it into gear (the cltuch still wasnt working) and rode it around for a while.. again the clutch did not work... now im lost..

in this first pic you can see the clutch arm where the cable would connect this is what i would beileve to be the clutch completely out..

in this next pic i have pushed the arm as far as i can and this is what i believe would be completely in... in this postion the bike still will not roll in gear..

heres the first pic again.. what i need to know is should the lower half of that spring sit where it is ( it comes off alot ) or should i put it on that little hook by where that bolt it going in....

finally last pic... i believe this is the air-fuel mixture adjustment?
if so which way do i need to turn it to solve the problem that when i give i lay on the throttle it cuts out and wants to die?

the screw on the carb is your idle adjustment, the air screw is on the bottom of the carb ;) as far as the clutch, id try to run it again cause i have the same problem with my yz250f, its probably just sticking because you need to ride it (runing it may not help 'cause you acyualy need to ride it and work the clutch some to warm it up) hope this helps :) ohh yeah and post some more pics of the hybrid, i wanna see

should i just ride around and move that arm back and forth and try to get the clutch to come free? or what other ideas do you guys have? also what about the cutting out what do you guys think it is now?

Sorry, I havent been able to get you any pics of the airbox setup yet, but I have been very busy lately with this guy that ripped me off on some shocks..Do you still need the pics?? Also about the bog when you cob the throttle..here is a forum that will tell you all about it..To me it seems very hard to fix and it is all in the accelertator pump timing..To me the problem isnt bad enough to mess with, but yes the adjustment on the carb that you circled in the idle screw.

Now about your clutch..I dont think you should be able to move the arm with just your finger enough to disengage your clutch..I know I cant on mine..Also in your pics it doesnt seem to be put together right..the little spring doesnt look to be in the right place and also there is a bolt there and that "cut out" part of the the little ring thing that is right below the clutch arm should be in the "cut out" part of the ring to hold the clutch arm in place and to keep it from moving up and down..I think once you put that together right and then adjust your clutch to where it pulls the arm farther it should help..

Also post some pics of this thing..I wanna see it:D

Get a cable and lever on it and it will work. You can always move a clutch arm a little bit with your finger then it stops. Its got alot more resistance than you can put directly on it without the leverage of a lever and cable.

ok i took off that bolt and saw that there is a cut for the bolt to go through.. and i pushed on the arm with alot of force and it would still not roll ... i am stumped now.. and i know its a small problem cause the guy i bought it from said it was all running right right before he shipped it to me.. YZ400EX.. i dont need the air box pictures but could you show me some pictures of your clutch set up? i just need to get this figured out Asap...

thanks for any more help guys..

yup,i usually use a ft and a half screw driver to get all the leverage i need, and it is still pretty resistent
