haha...Let me tell you, If anybody ever tells you that you can make an airtank out of PVC, I wouldn't trust them to much.

I made one that was in the shape of my enclosed trailer. Like a big "U", so it would wrap around the two sides and front of the trailer on the inside.

And I was going to hang it in roof of my trailer to keep it out of the way. Well, I cleaned and glued all the joints really well and put it all together. I then put 50 pounds of air, and waited, then 60, and waited...70....80...90....then 100. After I put 100 pounds in, I went in to get something. I swear this thing shook the house when it went off...lol. It wasn't the pipe itself that blew, it was the corner pieces that gave.

Just thought I would let you all know, just in case.

no, thats the good part...I hadn't put it in the trailer yet, it was just sitting in the garage. I found pieces of PVC a good 30-40 feet outside of the garage...lol

I was wondering that myself... We almost had a Darwin Award winner.

Reminds me of the story about a guy that put gas in a pot on his stove so it would thaw out his frozen gas lines in his car.

Ive made plenty air tanks out of pvc. The only one that blew was one that I didnt let dry long enough. And yea, it was like a bomb.

I let it dry over night. But that wasnt the part that blew, the part that blew was the PVC corner. It just disintegrated...lol. Do they make different kinds of corner to withstand greater pressures?

well, I was just wanting to make something that would be out of the way, unlike a metal tank. Plus it would have more volume that a small tank.
