I was thinking instead of wasting my money on a wave rotor...to just make my own. If i got rid of all the burrs after cutting...you think it would work alright? It seems like it should work half way decent.

no. and funny.
I think once you took one cut out of it the whole thing would warp.. their only 100$ for a wave rotor, that is half of what honda charges for a new stock one. but anyways take your skid of and drive doun a rough trail. then you will have a good excuse to buy a new rotor when you bend yours on a rock.

Just buy one, it wont be as good as a wave rotor at all. You can get a desent used one for cheap.

i have 2 stockers and no money to buy an aftermarket because i dont see the point when i could put the money in the motor or suspension. But i thought i could modify it while i had it off. Guess you guys dont get the idea.

I would guess he was going to use a jig saw or somthing. if he had a mill he could just make one from scratch, altho it would be a lot of work it could be achieved.

I was actually going to use a rotary cutting wheel. Going slow to be sure to not heat up the rotor up enough to change the heat treating. Then smooth out the cuts with a grinding wheel then polish it up with wire brush and dremel attachments. I I was going to go with the same Design the Holes are drilled into the rotor, like a saw blade.

go for it and let me know how you make out. I just think once you take one chunk out of it the whole rotor is going to wrarp wicked badly.

Take your 2 stockers, add a little patience and then list them on ebay. You'll get the money you need for a wave.

Or ill just forget about the entire thing and ride on my stocker and make up the braking performance by riding performance.....
