ok, i have a yfz frame and a 400ex frame to choose from for a build up of a custom quad for my son. the yfz will be stock frame the 400ex is an arens chassis. i have a bunch of parts for the 400ex here, but i am kind of leaning on a yzf250f in the yfz chassis:ermm:

suggestions? opinions?

I'd do the yfz only because there is a big market for parts for them now, not knocking down the ex but there hasnt been any really new and improved things for them so far.

He might fit the yfz better overall with the narrow seat and all. Throw him on your brothers and see how he likes it

we have and except for the wide bars he likes it better then the R. if i go the yfz route, i can save a little cash by using some stock parts that go fairly cheap.

Man u just got him a pred 90

Put the YZ250F engine in the 400ex frame

suggestions? opinions? Thinking about yz250f in 400ex myself:cool:We have the motor out for a rebuild, so its tempting lol. But i dont know if i could get that in the ex and the ex motor in the bike without my dad noticing:eek: :D

You could allways throw a mini bend on it, it would make it alot easyier for him to ride.

yfz parts are pretty easy to come by, heck muffs parting out 3 of em at the moment.

that's gonna be sick!!!!!!!!!! you could make it just like your bro's.......then it would be like mini-me-yfz ........err, something like that :D

leaning heavily on the yfz, and if im not mistaken the bike engine should be fairly easy to get without breaking the bank

I would say whichever one you can build to weigh the least ( lbs. ) would be the best for him

i think we all know that the yfz has a better suspension geometry than the 400ex, i would strongly suggest it... besides the parts availability, you know there will be parts for it always coming out, becuase its still new

plus you know, the yfz just looks cool, not to mention it has a lower seat height and shorte angle on the steering stem, so cody might be able to reach the bars better, which would lead to less fatigue

i could go on, but i just think the yfz would be better

Once you are done with the build, semd those pictures to yamaha motor, and tell them to get on their *** and build a blaster replacement just like that! That is going to be the sickest youth class quad ever built, ive never seen it done. Everyone does the 250r based quad, but that is too big for a youth racer IMO. And I like how you are sticking to the same factory for the engine and the frame, it will look factoory when its done. Good luck!:macho

Even though you already made the decision you could really just flip a coin because you know cody is going to wax regardless of which one you build.:D

lol..i dunno about wax...

but i figure this should be a quad he can grow into over the next few years ulimatley ending up in the GNCC's and GNC's still riding it unless a better mousetrap is around at that time.
