Do i have to do this when i put in a new piston on a 400(stock bore)? Also how much would it (generally) cost?

Thanks,

all shopes charge deferent prices but i would guess close to 60 a hour but not gona cost that much i would say a half hour of time
is all it takes to do it . but if you jugg still has the cross hatch youll
be good to go but if it has a shine to get get it honed

Honing should take a few minutes at the most. $20 tops!

Thanks man, I'm going to have Marc Baldwin do it since it’s a 3 min drive away. Knowing him he'll probably do it for free (well if Matt Bartosec comes there with me since he's doing all my motor work) what am I going to have to bring with me? Just wondering so I’m not clueless when Matt stops by Friday.

Thanks again,

If i wanted to i could just bring my cylinder into my school and use my auto tech teacher's honing thing. His just attaches onto a drill. I don't know how old u are but u might be able to find a kid w/ that class and talk to his teacher. But Whatever works:D

Dont hone it out too much , most of the stock cyls ive seen appeared to be a little loose from the get go. But these were only oil problems and maybe shouild have been warrantied . Before buyoing the standard piston maybe you should have the cyl miked to see if its not too loose already.
