1st thing to do is call the tracks you plan on racing at and see what is REQUIRED to race at their tracks,,mainly kill switch and nerfs..:blah

like rico said, you will probably have to get kill switch and nerfs. here are some other suggestions and estimated cost:

kill switch: $30
nerfs: $125
works triple/rate shocks: $350
aluminum handlebars: $60
wheel spacers front and rear: $120
total: $685

i don't necessarily recommend wheel spacers, but for your budget it's a good option since wider a-arms and axle would run you at least $800. although, i ride with several guys who have spacers and they jump like crazy and haven't had any problems, but many people on this site will poo-poo on this idea. it is within your budget, though.

the shocks are a must. if you buy only one thing, i would make it your shocks. if you do any jumping, you'll end up blowing your stockers at some point.

good point. number plates and numbers from your local shop should run you at most $15. there you have it, $700.

I found the cheapest thing to do when buying parts is to only buy the ones that are missing when you try to put it back together!
