Houser swingarm (1 1/4''...black powdercoat) and L/T linkage with Axis shock for sale. Axis shock is comp and preload adj only. Set up for XC. Shock had fresh oil. The only item to purchase is an airbox lifter kit ($55) or you can make one yourself. This set-up retails for approx. $1,750....six months old and in great condition. Asking $1,050 that includes shipping. Please call David Hicks at 314.440.1447 if interested. Located in St. Louis. Below is a quote from Houser on the rear set-up. This rear set-up works great and the linkage does not sit lower than stock.
The stock shock length is 14.75" long with 4.33" of stroke. This gives less than 9" of wheel travel. The leverage ratio goes from 2.94 (very soft) to 1.79 (very stiff). Over the years we have found that a nice length shock is 17" to 17.5" long with 5" of stroke. That is what we tried to design our solution around.
Our setup uses a 17" length shock with 5" of stroke and produces 11.5" of wheel travel. The leverage ratio goes from 2.70 (soft) to 2.0 (not as stiff as stock). This setup takes the "buck" right out of the back end. Since the shock is so much longer than a stock shock, it is very easy to tune. We have sold a lot of these with no complaints at all.
