new exhaust for 440ex?? What do I choose???

I recently purchased a 400ex that was altered to 440. Im in the process of rebuilding some if it, cutting fenders, paint job, chroming everything.. Im not so much an engine guy as I am a cosmetic one. So I need some help from some of you engine heads out there. This bike a has a trinity 440 kit, but the exhaust is in dire need of raplacement. Do I need to replace the exhaust with the same trinity exhaust that was already on there? Or can I put a HMF Ballance or Curtis Sparks system on there since they have the best aftermarket output for stock 400ex's? Let me know - thanks

I have the HMF sport series, I love it but Curtis Sparks has more gains so I would go with it. You will need to probably rejet it after the install of any new exhaust.

word. thats what i heard, and thats what im going to get.

since the engine has a trinity kit, i would go with the trinity exhaust especially if you don't know what all was done. you didnt say, but if any head mods were also done by them, i wouldn't use anything else. if it was nothing more than a big bore kit (they are all basically the same) any exhaust will work fine. you have plenty of choices

Ya unfortunetly I dont what was done besides the 440 kit. he showed me a reciept a mile long for upgrades and things he had done to the engine. I feel my best bet is to buy the curtis x-6, mount it and then take into my local shop to let t hem tweak with the jetting and the engine to perform properly for my altitude and the new exhaust..

You all think this would be the proper way to go about this?
