once its warm its starts awsome. little cold natured. maybe when i put a HRC kit in it a can get it to come out of it

I picked mine up last night. Sorry no pics currently available nor much of a ride review.

I personally like the new front end better than the 04/05. The lights are hardly noticable under the hood.

No big surprizes (it is a Honda). Electric start is good. Shifted good and smooth. Brakes are awesome. Only rode it up and down the road a little so I have no idea how the suspension performs. Still breaking in the motor so it's not possible to state anything definitive about it's power.

Sorry I can't provide a better review. You may just have to buy your own and try it out. Or wait untils the magazines do a fair and balanced review...

I just got back from my dealer to pick up oil and a filter and i asked the dude when they were getting theirs. he said "not for awhile man". I was pissed! i wanted to see it. i had my digital around my neck and everything, lol! All i got to see what was new was a black 300ex and the new raptor700. man those things are one complicated looking peice of machinery. It did feel very comfortable to sit on though. Oh well, i'm sure i'll be out riding and the 06' R will come flying in the pitt sometime soon. Then i'll have to go over and drool on it just like people did when i got my 05'. I love how this industry makes you addicted and crave it so much. its like cars but 100 time more exciting. :devil:

Thanks. No nerf bars or skid plates or stabilizer for the 450R so I am planning to race the old 400ex at Unadilla.

I'm still waiting for someone to confirm that 04/05 nerfs and skids will fit the 06 before I buy.

There was a red 06 R (E start) at our XC race here in Texas this last weekend (www.atvccs.com). Looked good to me. The owner wasn't racing it yet, wanted to get it broke in first. Heck we break our stuff in racing but it is his quad.

The only thing I would have like to have seen was the battery moved out of the fenderwell but I still would like to own one.

It also seemed like the bars were kind of low on it but that could just be me.

Sounded good anyway. It's hard to beleive it gets enough air thru the little snorkle on the airbox.

I think he bought it a Plano Honda, but I don't know that for sure.

Good question. They did lower the foot pegs, not much, but could throw the mounting of the Nerfs out of wack. Skids and stabilizer most likley fit though.

Just picked mine up today.Broke it in put on my helmet and went for a little ride.This thing rips hit the gas and its gone.I rode alot of quads 4 stroke hybrids,worked 250r motors,I own 2 cannondales.All I can say is its fast. Shocks need a little adjusting for woods riding they feel too stiff gotta soften up the compression.

this was stated on ********.com from a reliable source who has a 06 R

1.) the front A-arms are the same as the 04,05's but the spindles are different,this is where they made the front end wider.
2.) rear subframe construction is completely different
3.) seat is slightly different
4.)frame is the same as 04,05's except top right engine mount is different
5.)The 04,05 rear swing arm skids will fit but you must grind 1/4 inch so link can clear, but it does bolt up.
6.) the 04,05 full frame skids bolt right up but drain plug holes are difeerent now.
7.) Foot peg mounts are same as 04.05's...you can bolt your IMS wide pegs on no problem! The ac nerfs bolt up no problem as well.
8.) Front bumper mounts are the same as 04,05's

How long do you all warm these up for? I waited for the cylinder to get too warm to touch...then went for an easy ride. Rolling on the throttle it cut out like it was cold. It had been running for about 10 mins and still doing it. I wonder if there is too much oil on the filter from the factory? I am not sure I even wanted it to open up in the dark...it was getting light in the front. :eek2:

It might be 87...the tank is full. Choke was on only to warm up. I'll have to inspect the filter better...it was a bit oily. It was good from 1/4-1/2 throttle...feels like it's starved for air.

No sales tax here but I had to pay premium anyway. $6834 w/title...registration...and the 2yr warranty. Dealers have to order them. Sounds like if they didn't go to the show most don't know to order them. :rolleyes: I got lucky!

I wouldn't worry about the plastic too much. You will have a black hood and tank no matter which one you get. And the dealer was telling me the red would only be about $225 for everything. The black sure look pretty when new.

I got mine honda only. But the honda/yami/zuki dealer has them too. But they are the biggest dealer in the NW.

I bumped up my idle a little bit.I had the same problem but that fixed it.

what are the specs on the bike, exhaust, jetting?? i have a 05 and it starts 1st or 2nd kick every time.

are you rolling the motor over till it is at top dead center befor you realy kick it?? if you just start kicking it like a 2 stroke you will be there all day.

find the place where its the most hard to kick, usually its gonna end up toward the top of the kick motion. then just fall on it, DONT smash it down! I dont think my quads ever not started past 2-3 kicks.

kicked over a lot easier this afternoon. tried a few things that the guys at the track said to do(pump throtle twice, use the hot start when hot, and don't touch throtle when you stall it) it's a lot better now
