i'm running the stroker and i just got her running right, i've had electrical problems for a while now coil did not have a good ground and took me a while to catch it, but in all seriousness my bike runs right with a piped 450 no sweat even pulls on them in some areas, but if i had a 426 engine or a 450 engine i'd still put it in my frame, yah right now I can say i got one up on a piped 450 but that's bout it, you can take the 450 hybrid engine so much farther when my 400ex engine is worked out the wazoo just to run with the piped hybrids, i can't go no farther

426, i just got my yfz426 going and its faster than yfz450 with a cammod, open esr filter and esr full pipe. it really pulls better and the qaud feels so light now.

I would have to disargee with this...I have had 2 YZ426 Hybrids and YES there fast but what a pain in the ***...if you use the quad for any thing less then racing then I would do the stroker and not the swap...2 reasons...when you do the 400ex/YZ swap the quad is not worth poop after its done...no one wants to buy the Chop j0b Hybrid...every one wants a Full Frame HyBrid...just my .02cents on this I have been dealing with the YZ swaps for some time now...the other thing is that even with a over sized radiator there hard to keep Cool for some reason...and this is with 2 diffterent quads and I have a CR450F Hybrid full frame now and I have the same problem I want to j0y ride and XC race and I am having a hard time keeping it cool with no fan in florida...

New head stay...welded pins in the bolt holes so the nuts would not crush the frame...

when it was almost done...the airbox was the other thing to work out...what a apin in the ***.....used a 400ex stock box and boot...just had to move the box up about 3 or 4 im to make the boot reach...

all these hybrids looks freakin awsome...... but i have noticed if you try to sell them alot of ppl sell them (or try to sell them) for more then a modded yfz or 450r, ad when i say more i mean like 2-3g's more....and ppl just take the total meant to b quad and make it close.... so if ypu plan to sell i would say juss go for the stroker.... i have watched a 400ex/yz450 conversion go from 8,500 all the way down to 5,500, its a shame cuz the quads are sick but not good for XC and alot of places dont have alot of mx tracks.......... juss my own .02

never build a hybrid for resale, even a stroker is not going to give you what your into it.
