I am considering buying a 450r carb for my 440ex from servicehona.com. Does it come factory jetted and if so will I have to probably go through a trial and error process to get the jetting right for my quad? Or are the factory settings compatiable to most 440 setups? Any advice and knowledge appreciated! I'm also considering an edelbrock 440 carb. What jets and clip heights are most setups using with the 450r carb?

i'm running a 450r carb you will have to rejet, the factory jetting on those is a 118 main and a 35 pilot, on my bike i'm running a 165main right now and a 52 pilot, and yup it's pretty much trial and error, you could probably start with a 165 or a 175 and see where it goes from there

a buddy of mine is running a 450r carb. he took out the stock 185 MJ for 200. i would say to try it with the stock jet and see how it works. if anything you will need to go down to a 170 or so. i have heard that the stock jet is 118, but the carb he ordered from world of powersports came with a 185, as did some other i have seen on this site and elsewhere, so the stock jet is a 185, not 118.
