i dont know what to do

im going to get a job over this comming up summer and i want to spend most of my money on my quad

i dont know if i should get a bunch oh stuff for my 300ex (extended a arms shocks tires bumper ect...) or just buy a blaster

i love my 300ex but its been giving my nothing but problems espically with the bearing carrier and other annoying crap that keep me from riding it

i like the blaster cause its fast and its nice and parts are pretty cheap for it and i can make it look really nice

i do a lot of trail riding also

any suggestions?

well i would sell the 300ex right now and save my money then find a nice used 400ex that has some mods because you can get one really cheap now and when the 06 450r come in at the dealers i think the prices will drop even more :)

Well if your willing to go to a 2 stroke, go with a 250r. Screw the Blaster, the 250r is wayy faster. You'd be wayy better off modding your 300 over buying a blaster.

agreed.....if ur gonna buy a 2 stroke...go for a 250r. but if u wanna stay with 4 stroke keep the 300ex or sell that and get a 400ex

there is a wider range of aftermarkets for the blaster than i 300ex unless someone has a site that i dont know about ... i dont think if i buy a other quad it would be a honda sorta leaning towards a yamaha because the hondas i owned been giving me nothing but trouble

I just fuc*ed my blaster motor so much because my injector failed so my emgine needs to be bored and all that good stuff. And you should do the top end in blasters like every season. And the kids who get first and second every race is hooper and dipetro both on 300s and they get first by alot. So just stay with a 300 and find some sites to get aftermarket parts. look in like a search engine for like 300ex a-arms or something.

like my bearing carrier just went and it was jus tput in less then a year ago (lsr bearing) and bearings are starting to go to like the steam arm bearing during the winter me and my dad are going to put in rockers cam and rings cause they all went so yea lol

what are the advantages that the blaster has over the 300ex and what are some advantages that the 300ex have over the blaster?

all 300ex are good to maintain and ur carrier must be bad or somethin just replace it....

imo the 300ex is a better trail quad...no mixxing gas all the time etc.

IMO means in my opinion....and IMO yes u should stick with the 300...also IMO honda's are very more reliable then yamaha's. so stick with the 300 u will like it more than a blaster!

I have a blaster, but i just did the switch to a 300, my 300 is in the procces of being built, i just got the roll design a arms in the mail today! there so sick, and im working with elka and using the jb shock extender to make shocks work for the 400ex roll design a arms on the 300. also im doing a jb racin swingarm, elkas all around, jb steering stem w/ antivibe clamp, that kinda stuff, if you have anyquestions on where to get 300ex parts or what to buy, pm me or go to www.hetrickracing.com all the parts arent on his website, you just have to call.

If you're having maintenance issues on a 300ex there isn't a quad out there that isn't going to give you problems.

Unless you have a lemon. 300ex, are damn near indestructible. My buddy has been running his stock (other than pipe/filter/jet) 300ex since 1997. And he runs the **** out of the thing. Drowns it in 10ft of water. Drags it out.. tips it up, drains it, starts her up and takes off again,. Rolls it down 40ft hills. Raps it out in mud bogs. Hits trees (oh wait that's me :)). And hes a big *** 6'-3" tall 320lb guy.

He has NEVER had to tear the thing apart, or replace the rear bearings, beleive it or not.

You're bearing problems are most likley from you over tightening the chain. You need about a 1/2" of slack in the chain. It gets tighter as the swinger compresses. If there's no slack, your bearings are forced to take the pressure.

I can't comment on the engine really.. but knowing the 300ex motor like I do, you most likley have been running it too lean for a long time. That's probably what ate up your rings.

Also almost everyone makes aftermarket parts for the 300ex. For a long time the 300ex, blaster, warrior, banshee were your only options for the most part.

Leagers, Lonestar, Roll Design, Dennis Kirk, White Brothers, Rocky Mountian, etc.. all have parts for the 300ex.

Remember the 250x is the same thing.. so if you see a-arms for a 250x it works on the 300ex as well. (not the 250ex)

well my engine problem isnt because it was running lean it was because an ***hole put the oil filter in backwards

your friend is crazy how much dose he ride it i ride mine like every weekend atleast 2 times (fast trail riding, jumps ect.) and im 5'8" and 180ish pounds but i think im going to keep it i do make sure that there is 1/2 inch of slack on the chain i guess im going to have to add more then

im not really a "one brand only" person but id say just stick with the 300ex. My friend had a blaster, it seemed like he was always working on that thing, but it was also built and being raced and beat pretty hard every weekend. The 300ex is gonna be way more reliable and it should be faster than the blaster (not 100% sure, just going by what i hear. Like a few other people have said though, if your gonna get a different quad maybe get a 400ex. It may not be the fastest but its almost bulletproof, parts are cheap and easy to find, they are cheap and easy to come by now, and they still have a good amount of power to keep you happy.
