well im turning 16 soon and i'm looking into some tires for my truck. I want to lift it but since it's my first vehicle my parents want me to get some driving experience first (which i understand). Anyways it is a 2003 f-150 supercrew with the fx4 package and all the other goods. I was wondering what the biggest tires are that i can fit under it with out doing a lift (also keep stock gearing). I would rather put a body lift on it than do fender shaving though. I was thinking some 31'' mud terrains would work pretty well but im not positive. Any advice would be apreciated.

Yeah, thats a nicer truck than alot of people could ever hope to own. But ohwell, He's either paying for it or has been a good child his whole life. Either way, I wouldn't go bigger than a 31 or else I am sure you will have rubbing issues.

well 31s are sounding like the route im going to go.

It was my mom's company truck with a lot of miles for a 2003 so she's getting a new one and this one is getting passed down to me. I did work for it over the past summers and i guess they decided i deserved to have it

You should be happy with that ride ;) I love my 99 supercab flareside! The stock tire diameter is around 31.5 inches assuming it already came with 265/70/R17 tires stock. You would be fine with 31's since you are within 0.5 inches of the stock diameter.

Remember, if you were to throw 35's on there or any other size, it will throw off your speedometer and will need to be recalibrated :)

33's will fit with just minor shaving.

BFG has a 32x11.5 al terain that would be my choice next time.
Mud tires are only good in the mud they suck in the snow the howl they don't handle, but hell they look good.
Go with all terains they work and look good.
these are 31x10.5 with 2.5 suspension lift on 98 taco.
Mud tires were big mistake 95% of the time and awsome 5% of the time.

My tacoma had good year wrangler a/t 31x10.5 when I bought it.
they had half the tread and were still beter than the mud tires when they were new. Before winter I will be geting BFG's A/t

I wouldnt go with any bigger tire than 285's, those are about 33" and they work fine on my uncles truck with no clearance problems.
