open airbox= holy loud!

i rejetteed my 300ex yesterday to compensate fo the k&n and decided to run it lidless. ran for a few hours and man did i have a headache. like the extra power but man if its that loud with the stock exhaust whats gonna happen when the pipe goes on.

ya thats what i was thinking. i guess i will need one with a quiet core. but the thing is the volume was right below me, instead of tout the back, so that may make it seem worse than it is

With my HMF without the quiet core I can't even hear whether the lid is on or off. With the core in it is only noticeable, not loud.

haha we took the whole air box off of my freinds ford escort, its a POS so he didnt really care about it, but wow it sounds like a race car, it really doesnt have a ricy sound but more like a deeper tone like a rally car, he would stomp on it and it would sound sweet, now the tranny is all dicked up cuz of neutral drops
