Open air Box,HMF full exaust,420 kit 11.1 comp,stage 1 hot cam,stage 1 head portting,heaver valve springs, I was told byt my enging builder to run a 190 or 200 main jet. I get my engine back on wed. Then i will put it all together. I was looking for some input on what jetting you guys thing I should run?:confused:

I don't think it's wise to run heavy duty springs on a Hot Cam. You're rocker arms or cam lobes will wear out real quick. Stage one hotcams aren't recommended for a big bore engine either. With a big piston and a port and polish I think you'll find it to be inadequate. The main jet delivers fuel at the high end of the engine rev range. Since your cam delivers most of it's power on the low to mid range, you'll probly find that even at sea level a 180 might be too big.

The Builder that I used in pa sold me on the springs for the reason of longivity. I wouldent call this a big bore it is 2mm above stock. Everybody for some reason goes by real cc this would be the "416" kit
If you did that the 400EX would become the 397EX I thank you for your input and that telles me to stay with the stage 2 dyno jet that i have in now. I hope that that is not the case with the springs but by now its too late for he finshed the motor on sat. I guess I will put it all together and let you know what happens.
