I live in Nebraska and they seem to hate quads here. I have been to colorado several time and they seem to be nuts about ATVS.

Yeah Wisconsin is really quad friendly, glad I live on the border! Illinois is the most unfriendly quad haten state in the world. Our governer hates quads. I don't think he knows you can pull in millions of dollars from other states that travel here to atv, only if we had atv trails.:grr:

in the u.p. of michigan you can ride almost anywhere except some roads posted closed or on private land.

09-17-2005, 08:37 AM
I live in PA n we have roads in our town that are "quad legal" but that just seems to make ppl hate them cuz they have to listen to a-holes going up n down the road all day plus they can hear me riding in the stripmines from any part in town

Definately Michigan, try the Huron National Forest. The Bull Gap and Meadows trail systems connect and add up to almost 200 miles of fast GNCC type trails (without the rocks). About seven of us just returned from riding there at the end of August, it's a yearly trip for us. If anybody wants info, I can give you a good place to stay and anything else you might want to know.

Oklahoma. Everyone here owns one. There are tons of places to ride with no noise or crazy laws stating who can ride, how many or helmet goggles. I have rode my quad all over OKC and the cops love them. We have got some good racing associations here and we have lots of great people to ride with. The only draw back is, lots of quads get stolen around here.

Anyone from Colorado care to comment? I am looking to move there. I have vacationed there a few times and all I see are SUVs towing boats, kayaks, skis, quads, etc...

It just seems like I would like the people there better. Although I work in software and am frequently the only American on my team, it might not make any difference.

Alabama is not bad.... i ride up and down the roads around here, some cops will wave, others will try to pull you over, so around here its just a matter of which cop it is

It seems like people in Colorado are more into extreme sports. Of course any place is better then Nebraska. All they want to do is sit in front of the TV drink beer and complain about the Huskers. This is a very sedentary state. Anyways, tell me more about the places to ride in Colorado pls.

I'll second that. You can pull your quad out of the garage to plow snow and get a ticket!

Lower michigan is very unfriendly to any offroad recreation. Northern michigan, from atlanta up is very quad friendly. More so then dirt bikes in some areas. The up is also very good.

With a new govener I think our state would be outstanding to all forms of recreation.

My vote goes to west virginia. Seems like alot of states you think would be great really do suck. And you have to pay to ride your machine around a track. Pretty lame if you ask me with all of that open area...................:ermm:

it depends if you are talking about what state provides the most trails, dunes...events etc..or about the law. I would say AK cares the LEAST about what you do with one, so that would make them the friendlies in not handing out tickets for noisy quad. Yet they suck *** because there are NO riding areas around here that the state provides us with...

the only state park in Oklahama that makes a profit is Little Sahara. the only maintenance is to keep the bathroom facilities clean and usable and the pay a couple of park rangers and some gate help. when you get 75,000 riders yearly at $7 a head, you can make some serious profit. oklahoma has lots of state parks that are quad friendly. Little Sahara is 1700 acres of dunes and Lake Murrey is 2000 acres of trails(not to mention that they almost break even on their budget too).there are endless miles of riverbeds that are great riding for utility and sport quads that is all free to ride and there are about 15 or so good MX tracks spread out through the state too. thats why i like living in OKC, i am centrally located to all the riding around. i dont know the ratio but i bet it is close to 1 quad to every 150 persons in oklahoma. that is one reason it so cheap to buy one new or used in oklahoma, everyone has one so the dealers have to be competitive.

well i like pa a lot and in some ways i hate pa a lot. well i live here of course. but i can ride anywhere i want you but just in a few places or in a lot of places but you just don't get caught and your fine. i mean i have got shot at once. but i havn't got caught yet but i have been close and i mean by owners and cops. the owners are a lot worse than the cops though i think. but i know from where i live i can get any where for sure. i live in Punxsutawney and we got something called rails and trails and we use to be a loud to ride on it until the govornment bought and they paved the hole they. but finally this year they said they wanted more money for something and now there gonna let the 4 wheelers and bikes back on it and i will be able to get to a lot more places easy than i did before. give me a messege. if you live in a 50 mile radius of Punxsutawney though
