I just got a FMF Powercore for my 300ex. How tight (ft lbs) should I put it on at the motor?

Thanks

I believe he was asking... well, what he asked! How tight... how many foot pounds of force to tighten the nuts on the exhaust. To know exactly, I would either call or e-mail FMF. Try this e-mail addy... sales@fmfracing.com

I dident go quite that much, I just tightened till the bracket to the pipe started to bend a little bit.

You don't think I am going to notice that much of a difference? I am just looking for a good sounds and little more performance. What kind of Jet Kit should I get?

You should also be adding a K&N or Uni with your pipe. I was just added a pipe and I used a 128 main, dropped the needle to 4th clip down. and has run good so far.. No Jet Kit is required. Just a waste of money and alot of extras jets. Good luck though, its a pretty easy mod.

Hand tight is fine on them. Just get the crush washer to crush a little so it seals and your good.

I'm in the midwest. When I ran my old FMF Performax pipe & K&N filter I also ran a 128 main jet. That should be a good place for you to start.

I also would highly reccomend an aftermarket air filter. K&N or Uni, wichever you prefer. You'll be satisfied. You'll get a lot better throttle response than you will with the stocker.

More free flowing, so the air & fuel gets to the engine faster.

In the service manula for my 450R it doesnt list any torque value for the header to motor. I think this is because of the constant hot/cold/hot/cold cycle. The best thing to do is tighten them up (not over tight) then run the quad a little getting it up to operating temperature then retighten.

I already have a K&N filter both air and oil. Any other suggestions on what to do?

throw it out and get a uni.
