This will just be put in a field and we will be flat landing. How big should I build it ? I'm not a real experienced jumper so I was thinking arround 4 feet high.

here is one for ya....

Might not want to flat land it though!

I also 2nd the Reinforce, Reinforce, Reinforce!

Once complete you should also check integrity of ramp very often.

My tip: Don't do it.

Gotta be real careful, and watch your paint/primer for rotting. Especially if it will just be out there...snow/rain have a fun time with wood. I've just never been a fan...it's dangerous...slam into the face...flatlanding may hurt.

Not to discourage you...but dirt works wonders:)

Wood works, but is definitely not the best option. Me and two of my friends built a 8ft wood ramp for their DBs and it eventually ended up getting cracked in the middle and the wind tore it to ****

I would be scared hitting that wood ramp^^^ looks like it is just a straight incline:eek2:

I don't realy have much to work with. We are trying to make someplace to do some jumping close to the house. there are just some flat open areas and not realy much soil to work with.

yea guys there is a curve on that ramp pictured ive seen it from another angle it has a nice curve to it (you cant see it becasue the 2x12 sides) your riding a 300ex man so not to discourge you but i wouldnt flat land form any higher than 4 feet. you can build a mellow dirt ramp wiht not much dirt at at and you can make it to wear youll only jump 4 feet high but really far and you dont have to have a landing .. ill see what i can come up wiht in paint and ill show you. but for your case wood wouldnt be worht the trouble

I may have to make just a small mud jump. We will be making this by hand so it's not realy easy and I won't be getting over 5 feet of air for a wile till I get used to jumping. I have ridden atv's for years but I am new to the whole jumping stuff.

here is a side veiw of a small dirt jump that you could build i had one exactly like this and i could hit it in 4 gear on my 400 all day itll shoot you really far and still keep you low enough to where you dont need a landing

Well I'll have to see what I can come up with. Where there isn't much soil to work with. I may stack a couple logs and cover them with soil to make the ramp.

Well my brother in law made a wooden ramp last night you get about 3 feet of air and travel over 10ft in the air. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Here is a pic of me hitting it on the 300. I wouldn't want to go any higher without a landing ramp.
