400EX Power Pack

Quick question: Who has an ATV Power Pack for a 400EX for a reasonable price? I found some on Parts Direct for $120. Comes with a K&N filter, outerfilter, jets, needles, shims, etc. Is this about as low as they get price-wise?

i wouldnt get a kit. thye are rip offs.

K&N on ebay: $35
Outerwear: $20
Jets: $5

thats all you need and it saves you $60!

Awesome, thanks for the replys! If I put on a K&N with an outter filter, what number jets would I need? Also planning on doing the choke elimination mod. Also, in the near future, would I need to rejet if I got a slip on silencer?

Oh, one more thing, if I got the K&N and an outter filter, would I be able to run with my airbox lid off and be ok?

yes, if your running no lid K&N outwear and slip on, try a 165 main and the 42 piolt. with no lid you will have to re/jet, about a 152 or 155 MJ and 42 piolt would do it. you will have to check your filter after every dusty ride to, just to keep it clean.

Thanks for the info guys! I'll steer clear of the power packs and get the stuff individually. Hey Brian, I'm probably not going to be getting a slip on for a little while yet unless I can find one for a steal, so should I run the 165 MJ or a smaller one? Not quite clear on your post.

What are the SHIMS FOR???????

Not sure what the shims are for, just going by what it said in the description for the power packs. Gonna order the K&N and outterwearer this week. Need to find some jets still. You guys get yours at the Honda dealer? No luck on a slip on yet. What MJ would I need for just a K&N and an outterwearer? Would a 152 or a 155 work? Also gonna get a 42 pilot and take off my choke too, so here come the mods, lol.
