so are you gonna get new a-arms or try to weld it?

There are your choices.

Its a damn shame how crappy the welds are on the 01 models. Honda should be saving face and having them all fixed as a recall but I just can seem to get them to listen.

Good luck.

I've seen it happen before, check out Honda of Troy or service honda for a new one because welding it wouldn't last long. Talking about the poor quality welds, e-mailed Houser the other day and he said they'll probably have a 400ex frame by the end of summer. :p

I welded them both and they worked. I jumped the same jump that I broke one a arm on after welding it and it held up. I got +2 a arms now anyway.

I think its on all of them and you could probably check the quality of the welds yourself because they really arn't the best to put it nicely. You really shouldn't have a problem though if you are big on mx because I have had mine for about 6 months and have launched off some pretty crazy stuff with stock shocks and havn't broke anything yet.

my stock shocks get pounded when i go riding, when i hit 35-40 ft tabletops i am bottoming in the front, i guess ill just wait and see if they break, if they do thats an excuse to get some +1's and some works

I broke the same thing on my '99, and my '00 has the same bad welds. When I got the replacement a-arm for my '99 it had a much better weld. I also have a friend who has a '00 and he broke the a-arms on it. When he bought new factory a-arms they had better welds.

I broke one on my 00' about 3 weeks ago. It seems to be holding up well after rewelding it.

I am now saving up for some Houser or Hermann Racing +1 a-arms and Works Triple Rates w/rezzies.:)

Might as well grind out the weld and fix it now.
