Jet fell out

i just rejetted my bik because i drilled a few holes in my airbox. when i installed the new jet, i went into the service manuel and it said to turn it 1/8 turn out, so i made it finger-tight and 1/8 turn out. today after about 5 minutes on the trail, it fell off and i had to ride it to a local store and fix it. i made it tighter this time, but not as far as it can go.
question 1: what should i do to keep it from falling out?

question 2: did i do any damage running w/o a jet for 5-10 minutes in second gear?

read your manual again, it was either talking about the idle screw or the air fuel screw, not the jet itself. you have to snug the jet up tite or it will fall out, like any screw.

did i cause any damage to the bike running w/ the jet out? my plug is black, but that can be fixed.

most likely not, just tighten up the jet and clean your plug, and you'll be set.
