does a high comp piston make a difference on a 450r?my friend say that you can just change the gaskets its the same thing.is this true and is worth changing the piston?and is easy to do your self

With air cooled motors like the 400ex, 300ex, or even a warrior you can remove the base gasket for a cheap increase in compression. You want to make sure you wont have piston to valve clearance issues though. With water cooled motors the base gasket is holding in the water as well as the oil. See, with an air cooled motor there is no compression leaking or oil leaking broblems b/c the sleeve is covering that crack anyway, but a water cooled motor with no sleeve and water running from the head to the case you are going to want a gasket there. That my thoughts any way.

A high compression piston makes an enormous difference as illustrated below :D

r u running the 13.75:1 ?
How do you like it? I have a pre production 13.75 and the difference is just amazing! I'll be getting another HH for winter rebuild

well i am a sissy so i run the pump gas friendly version (12.25:1). i don't want to pay for race gas. the difference over stock was nice. i didn't dyno stock or the HH piston so i can't tell you exactly the difference. the main thing i noticed was greater throttle response. it revs really high too. overall, i am really happy. i don't burn any oil and it runs strong. if i had to guess i would be around 44-47 horsepower with this setup. that is just a guess though...

And if you wanted to know CP is the manufacturer but produce it for VCP to call their own and sell. I am also a "sissy" and have a 12.25:1 on will call.
