I want to know if i would feel much of a gain trading my slip on for
a full exaust with my 01 400ex

Splash & dirt slip on
K&N filter and pre-filter
no lid mod. aluminum airbox
port & polish
head intake match
stock carb with choke removed
wiseco stick bore 11:1 comp.
hotcam stage 1
gt thunder cdi

No need to get rid of the slip-on.. just replace the header.. that will give you the full system you're looking for. And, yes it will make a noticable difference.

I am not familiar with your silencer.. so I cant say wether or not it is worth replacing as well.

i`m not surprised, there made by a local small compagnie here in montreal ! looks good , aluminum and stainless and very loud!

but shouldnt i change the whole thing ? are the full system bigger
at the pipe header jonction ??

get a silencer and header that were made for eachother

Keep the slip on...you won't see a difference. Maybe on top end but that's it.

you will see a difference, i guarantee it. you do have the choice of just buying the powerbomb header, but i don't know if that will perform as well as a good full system. the people who have it like it but i honestly don't think they have other full systems at their house that they compare it too. my buddy noticed a huge gain on his mild 10:1 406 motor with a stage 3 hotcam. by switching from a R series slip on to a full HMF, it felt like he gained what the cam and piston gave him all over again.

Aye.. keep the slipon.. just replace the header.. and use the extra cash to put towards the suspension.
