the 416 will be easier, cheaper, and will provide similar power. i would go with the 416.

if u build the 416 or the 440 they cant both be faster then the 450r it all comes down to the rider.....

in a drag 440 vs. stock 450r the 440 will win

That makes no sense at all, there are so many factors that could be used on a 440. You could have a 440 bore with 10:1 compression with stock pipe, stock air box, stock cam, and a nicely built stock bore EX with high compression and other goodies would take it. There are just too many factors to say which is faster.

If the motor is built correctly, the 416 will eat a 440. I like both bore's, although, I wouldn't go to a 440 unless I absolutely needed too. There are a couple of guys down here who have 460 Strokers and they are wicked fast bikes... All in all, I wouldn't bore unless you absolutely have to..

a 400ex with a bore/piston, cam, filter, carb, jets, pipe, etc will not keep up with a full piped yfz in a drag race. the yfz's are really quick. if you run 13:1 compression and dump a lot money into the bike, maybe...
