what would be the best rebuild to go with for XC racing on a 450r?
Between Derisi and Gt Thunder?

GT Thunder out of those two.
You may want to look into PEP or Elka...

NO Axis does not do rebuilds. If you are considering axis though, their new line of shocks that wimmer, byrd, and others were running are going to be relased this winter so wait for them. As for the best rebuild, from who ive talked to the GT Thunder is the most used. The derisi is more expensive also. GT thunder also designed an excellent linkage to go along with their rear shock revalve. Im not sure how true it is but rumor has it that honda bought the design for the link from Laz at GT Thunder for the 2006 450r

Yea but isnt gt thunder just a single spring and derisi and dual rate 0-preolad setup?

He even builds shocks for gt thunder linkages
He rebuilt my friends 450r rear shock for the GT thunder linkage it is lower now and has more ground clearance if you want his number I will give it to you

axis DOES do rebuilds for stock rear shocks. i have seen one with it before.

sorry i live in PA and axis doesnt do rebuilds. that must have been somebody like c&d i think that uses their stuff.

You still could send it to Norris Quin I heard he is very good if you get your shock rebuilt your going to end up sending it somewhere but hey thats your choice I also heard G.T. thunder was good to
I just recommend Norris because he rebuilt my rear and it is awsome

between derisi and gt thunder I would go with derisi
1. he is a pro
2. he races a 450r
3. he knows his stuff

I sure Santo would do a great job

Not anymore J-H Racing did mine (Dual rate with the GT linkage) it works ALOT better!!
