Only use a synthetic that is designed for wet clutch systems. So dont use the royal purple. I personally use Klotz 10-40 synthetic, which is a great oil, but most people dont like spending $10 a quart. Your intervals should be up to you. The more often you change it the better it is. If you ride it really hard, then change it more often.

service manual says 6 months...but i would probably cut that in half just to be safe. Even then, I might do it before 3 months you just never know.

When I raced all I ran was Amsoil 0w/40...then got hooked on all Amsoil products!:D

I won't run anything else.

Who carries the Rotella synthetic? I've checked all the local parts stores, haven't found it. Does the jug SAY "synthetic" on it? I found some labeled "Rotella T", but didn't have the word synthetic on it anywhere. Not to mention, it was only $8, so it seems unlikely.

Walmart is the only place I have seen it. There is two kinds, A white 4 gallon jug for 8 bucks thats 15W40 (also just as good as any brand name ATV oil) and ther is a Blue jug 5W40 that is synthetic. And dont worry worry about to synthetic and ruining your clutch, Rotella is a Class three synthetic and still has some Dino oil in it with no friction modifiers. You will probly notice your oil doesnt get as black as fast and your engine runs cooler. Good Stuff!!!

walmart should have both rotella oils. the non synthetic is in a white bottle and the synthetic comes in blue.
