i was wondering if it is possible to get more power out of my 400ex with out boreing it out. it alredy has a pipe and an intake.

get a cam. also better shocks allow you to go faster also. i would suggest upgrading from stock suspension before any serious mods.

take off the head cover, take off old cam drop in new cam, if it is a hardwelded cam you will need hardend rockers, and then re-time it.

thanks for the help i think i will try installing a new cam any sugestions to whitch one i might get.

a hotcam stage 1 would probably be best for you.

Get a repair manual if you don't already have one.

It's not difficult but there's more to it than what jak1389 posted;)

I agree with upgrading the suspension, well worth it:)

i would get a full pipe and either a stage 1 or new stage 2 hotcam. i woudln't get teh stage 3 until you get a higher compression piston.

Do and 11:1 standard bore piston and a stage 1 cam. Really wakes the motor up for only about $300 (new parts)

get a cam and some shochs if your on a buget or just begging get some works or 450r front stock shocks for cheap

Try a Sparks timing advance key for $20 bucks...

A higher compression stock piston will make a big difference, you will need to get your cylinder honed to have something for the new rings to break in to but thats under $20 to get done. You can still run 93 octane pump gas with 11:1 compression
