im having trouble with my freinds 400ex, i dont think its getting fuel. it has spark, i took the valve covers off and everything is moving in there. i took the fuel line off were it goes into the carb and turned on the fuel valve and fuel flows out. when i crank the engine over even after several minutes the plug doesnt even get wet from fuel. i even took the carb off my 400 and tried it on his bike, same thing. the bike was fine this week end and the all of the sudden it died on the track.
anyone have any ideas or suggestions???

Have you got any mods that may need you to increase the Main Jet? Or even the Pilot Jet?
Have you changed the Rev Limiter??
Its odd to have a warmed up 400ex to jusT die on the spot. If you were on a track and jumping, maybe your floaT bowl is sTuck.

no i havent done a compression check, think i should?
i just figured it wasnt getting fuel. why wouldnt the spark plug be wet even if there was low compression?

the plug still might be burning the fuel but theres not enough comp. to start

i never had to do one so you would have to ask someone else in here or call a honda dealer and ask them

stock compression on a 400ex needs to be between 100-128 psi
