Hey guys,

I really like your fenders guys. Did you do it yourself? Or did you take somewhere?

Yellow 400ex, DG alloy nerfs, DG skids on A-arms and swingarm and a PRM front bumper.:devil

I guess I'll be one of the weirdo's, I'm keeping my fronts. I'm going to shave the bottom part off at the crease and leave the rest. I like the looks besides, I like to trail ride and see at the same time. The fronts throw up a lot of mud.http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/e1ae99bc/bc/Smokers+Pics/__hr_ride2.jpg?bcRdnB9AC3F92cHG

Thats what I would think....I don't see the point in shaving your fenders....don't you just end up with piles of mud in your face?

06-11-2002, 10:53 PM

Your front tires are out past the fenders anyway. I don't get anything on me now that I didn't when I had fenders.

06-12-2002, 08:15 AM
If you race MX or ride in the dunes then shaved fenders are a must,,,if you did leave them on and race MX they will break off eventually...for trail riders' I wouldn't recommend doing it..

06-12-2002, 08:24 AM
the front fenders don't really help much

Smoker
06-12-2002, 09:19 AM
I know the front fenders don't do much for keeping mud off of you buy it helps you see when the thick stuff is flying everywhere. My wheels do extend out past the fenders but when you turn you get plowed by mud, I have had shaved fenders before so I know what it was like. If they bust then I'll shave them off completely but for now I'm just doing the bottoms. It's a preference thing, I like the looks. :p

its all about personal prefference

DESDAK4
06-12-2002, 11:15 AM
Yes it is all about prefference. I was just saying I don't have any real trouble with mine and I don't race or really ride dune, HE!! we don't even have really any trails here in ND. We just make our own in the ditches along the roads. Shaved fenders also helps in the wind and up here it is always blowing hard.

These were a few of my pics right before I finished up(camera took a dive on the finished pics) I smoothed out with a buffer on my drehmel and rounded out the bottoms of the fenders too..Liked it so well, that we did our Kasea Skyhawk,400ex too!! http:www.imagestation.com/album/?=4291635739

what kind of saw do you use to cut your plastic, a eletric one or a hand held one, jig saw, skill saw, chain saw, lol

QuadJunkies
07-10-2002, 01:54 PM
depends on who you are asking..I used a Drehmel, and it came with a buffer for smoothing out all the edges after you cut it

07-10-2002, 09:29 PM
why would you wanna do that?? then mud flies up and gets in your face and you cant see

QuadJunkies
07-10-2002, 09:45 PM
atc185s~~if you rode in mud alot, then you wouldnt wan to do this, I personally ride in alot of sand, and this does help with acceleration.. and seeing under my fromt tires has come in handy too, besides that...it just looks Damn good!!:) :) That why most of us do it..Just becuase we can :D
