After researching it a LOT I had planned on doing the GT thunder rebuild with linkage, but last minute found an elka rebuilt stocker. Its a dual rate w/ZPS and am very pleased, but had I not I know I would be running the GT Thunder setup.

does the thunder rebuild even come close to the elka. Because I don't have the money for it.

I've heard of people switching from elka to thunders setup because they prefer it better

you won't be dissapointed with it my rear soaks everything up never bucks and i have no fears of coming up short anymore unless the front end doesn't make it.......... mines an xc setup he's also has a mx

The Gthunder is the best setup for the money.

I switched from a pep rebuilt rear to gt thunders setup, rides awesome.

what does he all do to it. Like different pistons and valves, or dual rates it??

I believe his setup is still single rate. He revalves it and resprings it for you weight and riding style, and its coupled with his own linkage, either the MX one or the XC one, whichever you like.

Revalve and link. The stock spring is fine for most applications.

Well that wouldn't be a ZPS setup then. I thought Laz did a ZPS conversion, or does he pretty much do what ever you would want?

You dont really need to zps it with the link. It brings the ride higth down enough by itsself.

:eek2: How big of a notch are you going to have to cut to run a skidplate with that thing!

You would have to cut out the whole center section that covers the linkage.

mmmm well i got pics

and he does respring it, he has resprung mine twice since i went with is setup the first time around was a dual rate setup so yes it had two springs then a few months later he called me with a better setup that he thought i might like so i took it back out to him and he revavled and resprung it again, the second time he went with a single spring, it just depends on your application what he does with it

that thing sticks down far! I'd have to much problems trail riding with it, i'd ruin it fast

If I haven't destroyed it yet than your not goin to destroy it :o

Brandon sommers ran the exact same setup on his quad and never broke one nor did it ever hang him up so it's pretty unlikely that you will
