well your probably jus gonna have to get use to it or you could buy some fullbore's and then they wouldn't be flapy for a while but a-lot of 400ex fenders get real flapy after they've been out on the track quiet a bit

Yeah I had some that did that, just the rears anyways. I made some little 1" aluminum brackets that I welded onto my AC heel guards(the old removable style) and then drilled a hole in the back plastic and just bolted the rear plastic to the heel guards. One muddy race and the aluminum broke right off, so now I just live with my flappers.

Unless you are an obsolute paranoid perfectionist (not bashing anyone) don't worry about it. If its keeping mud off of you during a race its doing it job. Its not the prettiest ride that wins races its the fastest.

Well I could care less what they look like really but its kinda goofy looking cause I clean the mud off and the fenders are still sagging, and the back is bowed now.

my fronts were flappin and clankin it sounded like metal on metal so I looked and the bolt holding the front left to the frame was broke off so I used a ziptie and it works like a charm. zipties fix all man!

I let my son team with two other boys and run my 400ex in the 6 hour Maxxis race in Texas earlier in the year.... After the 6 hour mud bath my fenders not only flop but some are cracked... I'd gripe about it by those boys can in 2nd in the youth class and 19th over all out of about 60 riders.

Anyway, I bought a plastic welding kit from Harbor Freight and welded the cracks and welded on some more red Honda plastic from my junk pile for added support. The support braces were broke so I made some new ones out of 1/4 inch steel dowel rod by welding some washers to them and bending them to mate with the plastic.

They are planning to do it again next year... Maybe I can talk someone into sponsoring them for new plastic... ha ha ha

It is a stock 400ex with a slip-on Muzzy exhaust (from a Z400 and welded on) and a K&N
