Alright I got asked this question in an auto tech class I'm taking and none of us could figure it out. We were asked what the advantage was of alloy wheels vs. steel. The best we could come up with is they are lighter. What do you guys think?

Lighter
Can be machined from a solid piece of metal, thus stronger
Won't rust, but can corrode
Shiny, but steel can be as well
Disadvantage though is if you bend an alloy wheel, it may not only bend, but crack, where as steel will most likely only bend, and can be beaten back into somewhat of its original shape if the need arises.
