question on +2 +1 a-arms

just bought a set of houser +2 +1 a-arms. My question is how will this affect goemetry, and handling? I have an 88 r with the stock pro link swinger

Nope won't have any effect on your geometry. They say +1 forward, but they really are not +1 foward on 88/89 250r's. However on 86/87 modles they are +1 inch forward, because the 86/87 geometry was slightly different than 88/89, and the 88/89 is the better handling geometry.

the 88-89 arms has +1 into the design, the frames for 86-89 are the same geometry

and yes the +2+1 does affect your geometry your widening the a-arms, thats why stiffer shocks with different valving are needed.

Yes, you need stiffer springs.

However, if the riding style is the same, no re-valving is necessary. You need to revalve if your switching from MX to desert or something like that.

Having the +2 wider will give you better stability. You'll love that.

baja rider is sort of right, you can GET AWAY with not revalving the shocks and just stiffer springs but the geometry is different and that in itself entails revalving along with stiffer springs. the valving for the regular length arms works fine but when you use it for +2 the lightest hit on the +2 front end is like a hard hit on a reg length so the valving thinks its hitting hard so the valving in esscence is not being used just for the hardest hits, no soft, medium and hard.

right now i have stock 400ex shocks up front, so it sounds like it goin be a rough riding sob until i can get some after market shocks, hopefully thta will happen in distant future
