I am going to have to do the grab bar mod for a 400ex the Sub frame I bought had no battery mounts( its off a CRF450 quad so its a kicker) at some point I will porl. do a battery relocate, but for now I need to do the 250R grab bar mod so I can hurry and get this sent off to be PC'd!! I noticed there are several dif year 250R's and a couiple of them have different part #'s. So does it matter which one will fit my 400ex??
Also, who has some nice grab bars . I saw one trick one on Ebay last night that was solid(not tubing) but it also states you have to modifiy it if you have a dif year 250R.

I just bought one and its the one that fits the 89r or the 450r.

Do me a favor. Make sure you buy a wide one. It makes moving the quad aroudn so much easier.

thanks for the reply!!

So will this work then??

I like the idea of how the plate bolts on.
Is the modifying hard to do and should I just order one for the 450r?? I didnt know the 450 and the 400 Sub frames would match up??!

I had to cut those brackets off in order to mount it. Your old subframe gets in the way.

Pappy had mine modified, he just welded on some bolts and cut off the brackets for the tail light.

88,89 250r grab bars, and 450r grab bars are the same, atleast the mounting holes. I got a 88/89 250r/ 450r ac racing wide grab bar on my 250r, I haven't gotten to use it yet but I'm likin the wide grab bar, it will be so much esier to get my un stuck.

I just replaced the PRM bar with the AC wide bar. They both have there good points and bad points.

The AC is round bar all the way around and is a little easier on the hands when trying to move a 400 lbs quad.

The PRM is a little longer, so it sticks out a little farther. Which is nice becase it moves the handle away from the exhaust.
